Karen Bungalso Abuan

A digital marketing expert, social media manager, content creator, video editor, and the founder of Social Media by Karen LLC.

Her Story

She built her personal brand from the ground up and gained valuable experience along the way. Here’s what she learned that could inspire and guide you:

Early Life in the Philippines

Worked multiple jobs as a student (waitress, merchandiser, promoter) to support her family and fund her education.

Graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, majoring in Management Accounting.

Started a small boutique selling clothes and candies. Although it failed, it taught her valuable lessons.

After that, she worked as an accounting assistant.

Starting Fresh in Dubai (2015)

Moved to Dubai in 2015 to build a better future for her family.

Began working as a cashier in a supermarket. When her contract ended, she made a bold choice not to go back home.

Instead, she found another job and worked as a secretary, but her employer didn’t pay her for four months. Still, she never gave up—pushing forward despite the challenges.

Overcoming Challenges and Growing

Became a personal assistant to a director in a real estate company.

Realized that commuting three hours daily for a low salary wasn’t sustainable and began dreaming of a better life.

Discovering Her Passion for Digital Marketing & AI

Invested 50,000 AED to learn digital marketing, social media marketing, content creation, personal branding, video editing, automation, website and online

Launching Social Media by Karen LLC (2024)

Founded her business, Social Media by Karen LLC, on July 17, 2024, and started building her personal brand on social media on August 18, 2024.
